The
natural, even warmth of cast iron is enhanced with thermostatically
regulated combustion air and the Vermont Castings™ signature
conveniences of wood loading and ash handling make these stoves a great
choice. Our Catalytic Wood Stoves ensure that more smoke and combustible
gasses are converted to useable heat under conditions where other stoves
simply cannot.
Non-catalytic stoves are also available.
The EVERBURN system is designed to deliver cleaner emissions and longer
burning times similar to a catalytic system. Our state-of-the-art
design enables Defiant and Encore stoves to burn more steadily and
longer on a single load of wood.

Cast
iron has always been the preferred material of the skilled stove maker
because it is extremely hard wearing and durable. Cast iron has a
thermal mass and excellent heat radiating characteristics and therefore
stores heat naturally through its air inclusions. It stores and
distributes heat more evenly and for a considerably longer period than
any other materials used in stove manufacture. All parts can be
replaced.

The
beauty and grace of the Olympic stove is manifest not only in its looks,
but also in its remarkable efficiency. At just 2.6 grams of emissions
per hour, the Olympic is one of the cleanest-burning large wood stoves
ever approved by the EPA. Its large firebox can handle logs up to 24”
long, providing up to 12 hours of continuous burn time. It also features
a single control to adjust heat output and a by-pass damper to prevent
smoke puff-backs while starting and reloading. In addition to several
leg styles, an optional pedestal base with or without an extra large ash
pan is available. And for maximum convenience, the Olympic features a
spacious cook top surface. Many additional sizes and styles
available.

HearthStone gas stoves
There
is nothing quite like soapstone. First, it possesses extraordinary
heating properties. It stores more heat for its weight than any other
naturally occurring material, and holds twice the heat-storing capacity
of iron. Additionally, unlike steel and other metals, soapstone can
withstand great fluctuation in temperature with little expansion or
contraction.
HearthStone builds stoves with soapstone to offer stoves that provide
slow-burning, even, radiant heat that continues to warm your home long
after the fire cools. HearthStone uses "Acaiaca" soapstone, which is
quarried in Minas Gerais, Brazil (Minas Gerais means "various mines" in
Portuguese). In this region, where more than half of Brazil’s mineral
wealth is produced, ‘sapon’ (soapstone) is use extensively in
architecture, statues, monuments, cookware and tourist trinkets.
